Martin began his career in digital marketing at Europe’s first Paid Search Engine Espotting in 2000. In 2004 Espotting was successfully merged with US paid search engine FindWhat.com in a US$186 deal to form MIVA (NasDaq: Miva,INC). At Espotting’s Martin helped develop the SME and SEM offering through his senior account management role.

Prior to Espotting Martin worked for 3yrs at Euromoney Institutional Investor a FSTE-250 listed Business to business publisher (LSE: ERM.L) as a business development manager selling across a number of their leading B2B titles.
After leaving Espotting Martin started consulting to the fledgling SEM market in all aspects of paid search marketing and SEO before joining the world’s largest Online dating site Match.com as Search Marketing Manager EMEA.

While at Match.com Martin oversaw the management of PPC campaigns for 24 direct domain websites in 8 languages with accounts open on every Paid performance network worldwide. In addition he had responsibility for creating and implementing the organic SEO strategy for Match.com EMEA.

In July 2005 Martin joined as the 5th member of Steak Media. He has a key affinitive with the founders having first worked with them at Espotting. Initially as Account Director martin helped shape Steak Media’s search offering and has nurtured many of the key accounts in Steak’s Portfolio. Now head of Search in the newly opened Melbourne office Martin is looking to bring his experience to the Australian market and replicate the success of Steak Media in the UK which culminated in them being voted UK Media agency of the Year in 2007.
